THE 2006 HEWDEN AUCTION
In conjunction with
the Hertfordshire Showground and Agricultural Society
Several successful major public auctions have been conducted for Hewden, part of the Canadian listed company Finning, by Reading based auctioneers Thimbleby and Shorland.
This year as with last, the auction event will be orchestrated in conjunction with the Hertfordshire Showground located at Redbourn, near to St Albans.
The 2006 Hewden Auction, is the biggest ever, direct from user disposal of construction equipment, vehicles and associated items.
It will attract a truly international audience, with organisers confirming already, buyers flying in from across the globe from destinations including Russia, Japan Australia and many countries throughout the Middle East and Europe. UK and European buyers are expected by private jet at Luton airport as well as several helicopters landing directly on the showground.
The 2006 Hewden Auction is being held on Saturday 15 July and offers probably the biggest variety of equipment, everything from a DIY drill to a 120 ton crane.
The organisers and Hewden are delighted to have been welcomed back to the Hertfordshire Showground, which is without doubt, a leading event venue. Commenting on this weekends auction event, Showground Secretary Mike Harman said: 'We are very pleased to be hosting this prestigious and extremely large international event. The curious interest from passing traffic in the distinctive Hewden 'yellow skyline' of 2500 auction items in all shapes and sizes has been phenomenal'.
In addition to the above, the organisers believe that the 2006 Hewden Auction will be the first, whereby construction equipment will be sold under the hammer of a female auctioneer. In an historically male dominated industry, it is pleasing to report that the auctioneering profession has joined the 21st century!
